Brees enters Monday night's game against the Washington Redskins just 201 yards shy of the record, now held by Peyton Manning. Monday night against the Redskins, he shattered the record in the 2nd quarter with an incredible 62-yard touchdown pass to rookie WR Tre'Quan Smith.

New Orleans will kick off its first of five primetime games versus Washington at 7:15 p.m. on Monday Night Football. Not to mention, recent retirees such as Peyton Manning and Brett Favre.

Ingram was due back on the field when Brees was predicted to break Manning's record, leaving many to wonder if Ingram's return would be overshadowed. They could have bounced back from the 38 yards lost on penalties, but allowed Ingram to establish a steady run game - and of course, Brees' record outing. "And so I'm still very focused on that", Brees said.

Brees told reporters this week he "never would have dreamed" of setting the all-time passing mark when he first entered the league with the San Diego Chargers in 2001. Brees has passed for more than 59,000 yards and more than 400 TDs in 12-plus seasons for New Orleans, smashing every meaningful Saints passing record while helping long-frustrated franchise win its first Super Bowl in 2010 and go to the playoffs six times.

They exited the 43-19 loss to New Orleans in silence, with a much different vibe, one that suggests this week and their next game against Carolina has turned into a crucial one for the franchise.

The stewards investigated the incident, but tellingly took no action. "For me it's risky at this type of speed", said Leclerc. He will then jet across the pond to race at a venue where he is unbeaten since 2013.

Aubameyang: Arsenal must maintain winning mentality
He was a constant threat to the Fulham defence and took both of his goals with aplomb to set Arsenal on their way to a fine win. Alexandre Lacazette's double and a goal of the season contender from Aaron Ramsey, inspired a 5-1 rout of Fulham on Sunday.

Drew Brees said back in 2006, Saints head coach Sean Payton took a chance on him, and he is grateful.

Brees, who finished 26 of 29 for 363 yards with three touchdowns (he's now just one shy of 500 for his 18-year career), showed how potent the Saints can be when they have their full complement of weapons.

The game was then halted and Brees was given the record-breaking ball.

The game featured other touches meant to honor Brees.
