"We will share the results that emerge transparently with the whole world".
Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin announced Thursday that he will not attend a previously scheduled Saudi investment conference.
A spokeswoman for Defence Minister Christopher Pyne, who has been pushing for a defence industry agreement with Saudi Arabia, said: "It would be inappropriate to comment while the investigation is under way".
This comes in the midst of the worldwide outcry over the disappearance and probable murder of Washington Post columnist and critic of the Saudi regime, Jamal Khashoggi, at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul earlier this month. "I mean it's bad, bad stuff, but we'll see what happens".
"I've heard no tape, I've seen no transcript", Pompeo told reporters overnight.
The investigators left the residence around 1:30 am, but some of them headed to the nearby consulate to conduct a search, which was continuing into the early hours of Thursday.
Asked what could have happened to Khashoggi, he said, "There are lots of stories out there about what happened, and I'm going to allow the process to move forward and allow the facts to unfold, and.we will make a determination for ourselves about what happened there, based on the facts that are presented".

Authorities widened the geographic focus of the search after tracking the routes and stops of cars that left the Saudi consulate and the consul's residence on October 2, the day Khashoggi was last seen, the senior officials said.
Khashoggi, a dissident living in self-imposed exile in the United States where he contributed to the Washington Post, vanished after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2.
"Canada has said this with a very strong voice". "We continue to seek an interview with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman".

New reporting overnight could escalate a diplomatic crisis between the United States and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, several high-profile human rights groups have demanded that Turkey ask the United Nations to investigate the possible killing of Mr Khashoggi.
A source familiar with the Turkish investigation has told CNN that Saudi intelligence officer and former diplomat Maher Abdulaziz Mutreb played a "pivotal role" in the apparent assassination of Khashoggi.
