Trump promises peace, but turmoil over Russian Federation probe and media intensifies

The mobilization comes after President Donald Trump fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions Wednesday, replacing him with a man who has previously criticized the probe and offered suggestions on how to slow it down.

The Mueller investigation has so far produced 32 criminal charges and four guilty pleas from Trump associates.

CNN's Jim Acosta, who regularly spars with Trump and his spokeswoman Sarah Sanders, annoyed the president by asking if he'd demonised immigrants during the midterms election campaign and then went on to ask about the Russian Federation probe.

"I think Congress should regulate things that harm people, and that is the hard drugs and the like that dramatically hurt citizens, cause violent crime in our communities, and those should be regulated", he said.
