Kardashians, director Guillermo del Toro among celebrities fleeing as Malibu burns

The Woolsey fire began on November 8 near Simi Valley then burned south overnight, jumping the 101 freeway and heading towards the Kardashian family's Calabasas homes and the flames by Friday afternoon hard marched all the way to the coast in Malibu.

The fast-moving wildfire in Southern California has also scorched a historic movie site used by the HBO series Westworld and Dr Quinn Medicine Woman and forced numerous celebrities to join the thousands fleeing flames that have claimed homes and prompted the total evacuation of the celebrity enclave Malibu.

"Just landed back home and had 1 hour to pack up & evacuate our home".

She later thanked the firefighters for their efforts, adding: 'Thank you for all you do for us!'

The 2000-acre Woolsey Fire is now burning in Ventura County with officials reporting zero containment, per the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

The fire has burned more than 14,000 acres so far and all of Malibu is under mandatory evacuation.

"Thank you to all the fearless firemen fighting this fire back home".

TMZ reports that the flames pose a great risk to the property, which Kardashian and West only just finished building earlier this year. Among the houses reported to have been devoured by the flames is Caitlyn Jenner's mansion in Malibu hills.
