The 9820 builds on the strengths of this year's 9810 - which powered the global variants of the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 - by introducing a fourth-gen CPU and an LTE modem that can hit up to 2Gbps with 8x carrier aggregation.

For photography enthusiasts, this chipset has advanced ISP that supports up to 5 sensing elements. The chipset also enables 4K video recording at 150fps and 10-bit colors, as well as the ability to shoot 8K video at 30fps. Despite that, it seems there is still a market for flip phones in amongst the iPhones and Galaxy phones of the world, and Samsung has been cashing on the demand.

So in short, the Exynos 9820 should be able to deliver a lot more power and be more efficient than its predecessor, meaning your battery should go further.

While there's no official statement in this regard, taking the last years' model, Samsung might present the future Galaxy S10 device at the MWC 2019 conference at the end of February. Other than that, there's also a fingerprint scanner that is mounted to the right side of the device. This secondary silicon ramps up the brightness of the screen as soon as it detects contact and scans the print pressed against the glass three times for security.

Samsung might use Qualcomm chips in most of its North American phones, but everyone else gets the company's custom Exynos chips. This would make the sensor more accurate than current in-display sensors - not to mention easier to use.

Instead of the controversial notch, the phone display will include a small hole in the top-left corner, where there is a selfie camera.
