Even though the Eastern Conference is wide-open now that LeBron James is out West, the Wizards haven't shown anything so far that gives off the impression they can turn it around and make a run.

John Wall unloaded at Scott Brooks during a recent practice session. The Wizards are 5-11 and host the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday.

"This is embarrassing", a person familiar with the team said.

Wall is a five-time All-Star.

Scott Brooks is taking the brunt of his players' frustrations.

Wall is a very good point guard, but his contract could limit the amount of teams willing to acquire him. Brooks told Wall to get off the court, and Wall responded by yelling back that he was already off the court.

"We've got to just play with more enthusiasm, more effort, more energy", Brooks told reporters Sunday.

Later, Beal, still fired up, went off about the current culture within the organization.

"I'm not going to be naive to it, you know", said Beal, who saw the report.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski says Wall directed a verbal barrage onto Brooks after being challenged in practice to raise his and the team's intensity. This is what led to the team ultimately fining Wall for his explicative toward Brooks.

Washington star Bradley Beal also became frustrated and had a shouting match with backup guard Austin Rivers.

Early today, it was reported that the no player on the Wizards is off-limits in trade talks including John Wall and Bradley Beal. A Wizards spokesman, meanwhile, cited team policy by saying President of Basketball Operations Ernie Grunfeld "doesn't comment on rumors, so he won't comment on this one".
