Thursday's plea was regarding Cohen's false testimony to Congress about Trump's efforts to build a hotel in Moscow. "You flip and you lie and you get-the prosecutors will tell you 99 percent of the time they can get people to flip".
Donald Trump's longtime lawyer and fixer has pleaded guilty to lying to congressional investigations into possible connections between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation, and admitted that he had been involved in talks to build a Trump Tower in Moscow months into the 2016 United States presidential campaign. Then there were former deputy campaign chairman Rick Gates, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and Dutch lawyer Alex van der Zwaan, who lied about his Ukrainian dealings with Gates.
Cohen told a NY court that he had made false statements to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence about an aborted Trump organization real estate project in Russian Federation.
Prosecutors said Cohen had tried to give a false impression that the Moscow project ended before the Republican presidential campaign properly began in 2016 with the Iowa caucus.
According to the plea, Cohen later discussed traveling to Moscow to jump-start the deal.
There is no clear link in the court filings between Cohen's lies and Mueller's central question of whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russian Federation.
Nunes is a Republican congressman from California and Trump loyalist and was a member of his transition team.
Cohen gave a statement to congressional committees previous year saying the president's company pursued a project in Moscow during the Republican primary but that the plan was abandoned "for a variety of business reasons".

Ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen pleads guilty to lying to Congress
As he left the White House shortly after the court proceeding concluded, Trump called Cohen "a weak person".
Mr Cohen said his lies covered up the true timing of negotiations and unspecified details related to a Moscow Trump Tower project during the President's 2016 election bid, prompting Mr Trump to lash out at Cohen as a "liar" and "weak person".
Flanked by his lawyers, Cohen admitted making false statements about the project in 2017 to Senate and House intelligence committees, which at the time were investigating possible connections between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation. "I mean, we were very open with it". "There was a good chance that I wouldn't have won, in which case I would have gone back into the business, and why should I lose lots of opportunities?"
"I have a great company".
Nothing said in court, or in associated court filings, addressed whether Trump or his aides had directed Cohen to mislead Congress. "I said I would confirm and revert".
"Certainly not '16", Trump Jr. answered.
Rep. Jerrold Nadler, the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, said the guilty plea shows that special counsel Robert Mueller's work must continue and Democrats must take action in January once they take control of the House.
The document does not identify Individual 2, but people familiar with the investigation said it is Sater.
The nine-page charging document for Cohen traces the behind-the-scenes communication about the project that had been discussed more than 20 years ago.
"This was a deal that didn't happen", Trump said of the purported real estate project.
The ultimately failed effort to "pursue a branded property in Moscow" was just the latest in decades of efforts by Trump to get into the Moscow real estate business.
