Adam Bros. Farming Recalls Cauliflower, Lettuce for E. coli Risk

The products were imported by Adam Bros.

Another recall has hit the produce section of grocers nationwide.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is recalling certain cauliflower, red leaf lettuce and green leaf lettuce produced by Adam Bros.

The CFIA says there have been no reported illnesses associated with the recall, but anyone who thinks they may have purchased affected products should throw them out or return them.

In a press release from Adam Bros Farming, Inc., the company said it was voluntarily recalling red leaf lettuce, green leaf lettuce and cauliflower, harvested from November 27 through November 30.

The FDA announced Thursday that investigators found a positive E. coli sample result in an irrigation reservoir on a farm owned by Adam Bros.

Recalled red and green leaf lettuce was sent to wholesalers in California, Colorado, Minnesota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington state.

The company has notified all affected customers of all product that was recalled as of December 13, 2018.

So far, no illnesses have been reported from the products.

The cauliflower in question was distributed to Arizona, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, as well as parts of Mexico and Canada.

Red Leaf lettuce, also sold in bulk without a brand name ( carton Tag Numbers include 253-27267 331-18, 204-27267 331-18, 203-27267 331-18). The filtered, treated water has tested negative for the bacteria. Most strains are harmless, but some can cause people to fall ill and experience diarrhea, urinary tract infections, respiratory illness, pneumonia and more.
