The Loudoun County sheriff's office says Nicholson was with 24-year-old Sydney Maggiore when they got into an altercation with another man and woman.

A 2017 fourth-round pick out of Michigan State, Nicholson has played in all 14 of Washington's games so far and is 10th on the team with 41 tackles.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Department arrived and arrested Nicholson after the attack on Tuesday, December 18. Other men tried to break up the fight, but Nicholson kept at it, throwing haymakers, including one that knocked the victim to the ground and left him looking limp.

Nicholson was arrested on Tuesday and charged with assault and battery and being drunk in public stemming from a fight at a restaurant and retail complex near the team's practice facility in Ashburn, Virginia.
