'Good chance' Kitchens will be Browns' head coach

Though the team has yet to announce it, there are several reports that Freddie Kitchens will be the new head coach for the Cleveland Browns. The job has been open since late October, when Kitchens was first made play-caller and the Browns were limping along.

At this point, Kitchens, who revamped the team's offense in the season's second half, appears to be the front-runner.

The Browns had gone 1-31 in the previous two seasons under Jackson.

The New Horizon spacecraft did a close flyby of the most distant object yet visited by any spacecraft on New Year's Day. The larger of the pair, which scientists named Ultima, is three times bigger than the smaller one, dubbed Thule.

This is an important hire because of the impact it'll have on Baker Mayfield. "I like it here a lot, and everybody around here knows that I like it here", Kitchens told Ohio.com. They're going to make the right call. I am humbled to have worked for such a storied franchise and will always love the city of Cleveland, this city deserves a victor! In eight games with Kitchens as OC, Mayfield threw for 2,254 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions and was sacked just five times. They won seven games in 2018 and hired offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens as their next head coach. And even though that arrangement went up in flames and resulted in Jackson's midway through the season, the Browns GM apparently tried to do something similar in his search for the team's next head coach. Austin since has been the defensive coordinator for the University of Florida Gators for one season under Urban Meyer, the Detriot Lions for three years from 2014-2017 under Jim Caldwell, and the Cincinnati Bengals for less than a year this season before being relieved from his duties by Marvin Lewis.

According to Browns beat reporter Daryl Ruiter and radio personality Les Levine, Kitchens was the reason the Browns stayed away from former Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy.

There is also no good guess at who could serve as special teams coordinator under Kitchens either. Jones is a Bruce Arians disciple.
