Winter Storm Watches & Warnings are lined up just south & southwest of our viewing area. The heaviest axis of snow will be along a line from Ottumwa to Mount Pleasant, and Galesburg with four to six inches looking likely in these areas.

A general 3-6 inches of snow is likely in this swath.

Half a foot of snow also is expected to fall across southern Illinois, Indiana and into Virginia. The storm may graze Omaha, Nebraska, and Des Moines, Iowa with a light covering of snow.

Total snow accumulation will range from 2 to 5 inches across northeast Kansas with most of the accumulation occurring tonight and early Saturday morning. The first wave will bring the heaviest accumulation amounts between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

A Winter Weather Advisory has already been issued for parts of the area ahead of this weekends snow system, beginning midnight Saturday through 6pm Saturday evening.

For Saturday, snow continues for St. Louis. A winter weather advisory was in effect for Bloomington, Peoria and areas north.

Tomorrow: Snow early then cloudy, breezy and cold. A midwest storm will make headlines, however Michiana will be on the northern edge, with marginal snowfall. It would be the most snow the city has had in a single storm since 2014 when a January blizzard dumped 10.8 inches.

For the metro, confidence is high that we will receive at least 1 to 3 inches of snow. Slippery road conditions are expected.

There is a slight chance for a few flurries on Monday, otherwise a dry week with milder weather returning on Tuesday. The overnight low will be 25 degrees, when the small amount is forecast to fall.
