Vices I Admire is releasing a new EP to the list of what will now be three albums.

The Colorado-originated band has announced an official release date of December 9th. Vices I Admire is picking up in popularity, between their lyrics and unique indie-rock sound, and with David Curtis (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Mickey Dollar (Guitar, Backing Vocals), Dan Battenhouse (Bass, Backing Vocals), and Mark Towne (Drums & Percussion), they can’t go wrong with their new EP or the sound they put out.

With a band name inspired by a Winston Churchill quote (“He has all of the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire”), who wouldn’t be intrigued? You can get a preview of the new EP, Venom and Pride, here.

Third Eye Blind has released a song specifically for the movement on Wall Street against corporate greed.

The name of the song is called “If There Ever Was A Time”, and supports the movement 100%. The song starts out with a news relay from Occupy Oakland protesters reacting to a fellow protester suffering a fractured skull after being hit with a projectile by Oakland police. The protester’s name was Scott Olsen, and he is a U.S. Marine veteran.

With lyrics like “if there ever was a time, it would be now is all I’m saying, if there ever was a time to get on your feet and take it to the street ’cause you’re the one who’s getting played right now by the game they’re playing, come on meet me down at Zuccotti park,” and  “oh where are the youth, we need you now, come speak the truth, come break it down,” among other lines encouraging people to “occupy everything”, the song could become the perfect anthem for the Occupy movement.

Other bands have started joining up in the OWS movement as well, including Russell Simmons, Tom Morello (of Rage Against The Machine), and John Lennon’s (The Beatles) son, Sean Lennon have shown up to give their support in their own ways.

Third Eye Blind is currently working on their fifth studio album, and this song is sure to stand out. Check out the video below and let us know what you think of their bold move.

James Cameron’s Titanic is setting out on a maiden voyage to a theater near you–again, but this time, it’s coming to you in 3D.

According to MSN.com, James Cameron has the best underwater 3D film making record, and after Avatar, who wouldn’t want to check out what he can do with a movie that was ranked second on the All-Time USA Box Office Charts bringing in $600,779,824, right below–you guessed it–Avatar, which brought in $760,505,847.

Everyone might not be on board with the new re-make craze, but the thought of watching a film this intense in 3D is sure to drive people to the theaters.

Titanic 3D is due out in April. Watch the trailer and let us know what do you think about the “re-make” in the comments section below.

Head banging, heavy metal band Black Sabbath has recently confirmed just this morning that they are reuniting.

News of this iconic rock band reuniting, a band that set standards for the future rock bands to come, is huge–especially since they are pulling things together with the original four members.

For guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Terence “Geezer” Butler, drummer Bill Ward, and of course legendary vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, this reunion isn’t the first. It will be the third time the band has attempted reuniting, after the first time in 1985 and again a decade later.

The welcomed reunion is even a bigger deal after the band announced not only a new album, but also a worldwide tour after a headlining act at the Download Festival at Donington Park in England.

After 43 years and 18 albums, saying that this is long-awaited and one of the most epic heavy metal events of the year is an understatement. Black Sabbath has been considered one of the most “influential rock bands of all time”, considered to be among the same ranks as Led Zeppelin, and according to Rolling Stone, “changed music forever”. We can only expect great things in the year to come.

ATP (All Tomorrow’s Parties) has announced their three-day music winter festival, scheduled for December 9th, 10th, and 11th.

ATP’s A Nightmare Before Christmas, a music-meets-Tim Burton spin, is destined to be huge, with day one being curated by Les Savy Fav, day two curated by Battles, and day three by Caribou.

ATP started the music festival in April of 1999 as an alternative to festivals like Glastonbury. What started out as post-rock and underground has turned into three days of electro-techno, indie, post-punk, psychedelic jazz, and that just covers some of the artists who will be there.

This year marks the 12th anniversary for ATP, and 45 bands in three days is a pretty epic way to keep it going. Some of the bands playing their hearts out will be Mastodon, Flying Lotus, Underground Resistance, The Dodos, Roll The Dice, The Ex, Junior Boys, Four Tet, and Theo Parrish, joined by many more. England called it, and this is definitely not one to miss–leave it to ATP to end the year with a bang.

British metalcore band Bring Me The Horizon sure has the trigger-finger when it comes to altercations with the audience, as they have proved during their concert in Helsinki on November 6th.

The first infamous fight that broke out between the band and the audience was back in October, during a concert in Salt Lake City, UT. Singer Oli Sykes was the victim of a thrown water bottle, and after being prompted by fans to hit them with a comeback, there was a snowball effect of fights breaking out in the crowd.

This was not unlike what happened in Helsinki on November 6th, after someone in the audience was acting less than respectful towards band members and, once again, the band confronted them.

Jona Weinhofen, guitarist, literally left the stage to confront the suspected fan and, of course, was followed by Oli Sykes. Sykes then used his microphone as a weapon, as reported by roadrunnerrecords.com, and this continued until security defused the situation.

A pulled plug ended Bring Me The Horizon’s show, and after the fight club reenactment, Weinhofen walked away with a broken hand.

Bring Me The Horizon definitely brings in an entirely new definition of “hardcore”, and we hope that this was the last we’ll see of fan-band fights. Witness the battle from a fan recorded video below.

Post-hardcore band Falling In Reverse has announced that they are pulling out of their winter tour with We Came As Romans, following Black Veil Brides.

Falling In Reverse was supposed to tour with Black Veil Brides for the prior two weeks leading up to We Came As Romans’ tour. However, they claimed they had to consider re-evaluating their tour plans after Black Veil Brides dropped out of their headlining tour. They reassured fans that they will eventually be touring again in early 2012, and that We Came As Romans is still scheduled to go on. They left this message for fans on their official website:

“Unfortunately, Falling In Reverse will be canceling their east coast tour with We Came As Romans (Nov 23 – Dec 11). We apologize to the fans that we will not make it. We Came As Romans and the other bands will still perform as scheduled. Originally, Falling In Reverse was scheduled to tour with Black Veil Brides for 2 weeks leading into this tour, but when Black Veil Brides cancelled their own tour, we were forced to rethink our tour plans.

We will be announcing a full US tour for early 2012 in the next couple weeks, so rest assured, Falling In Reverse will be coming to you soon.”

Along with a note that their show at the Buzz Bakesale in West Palm Beach on December 3rd will still go on as scheduled, and to stay tuned for details from the upcoming tour.

Electronic music seems to be where it’s at as far as the music scene goes, or, according to Jonathan Davis, lead singer for the rock band Korn, that is the direction music is leaning towards.

The album Korn is currently working on, The Path of Totality, is also leaning in the direction of the new dubstep genre. According to Korn and the DJs who are mixing with the band for their upcoming album, one of which includes Skrillex, via Rolling Stone, the sounds and mixes just “work together”.

The rock-meets-dubstep album is due to be released on December 6th. Korn admits that it’s nearly impossible to mix the electronic sets with Korn songs live, because of how ridiculously huge the level of bass would be in comparison with other Korn songs. However on the band’s Fall tour, they’ll be playing a 6-song set preview for anxious fans. Joining and representing the DJ world on the tour will be Downlink and Dastik, also joined by Dope D.O.D.

Could this be the prequel to a new type of music? The band promise the tour and the CD will be like nothing ever heard before. Let us know what you think and check out the video below for the result of what happens when Korn meets Skrillex.

In Flames, Sweden-based hardcore metal band, has released a video for “Where The Dead Ships Dwell”, and already it’s getting the creepy reputation it deserves.

The video comes across as more of an opening for an eerie new horror movie rather than a music video, but it adds a creep-factor to the song that so far is unmatched. With the song’s more concentrated and melodic tone, the video is actually quite fitting.

Video director Patric Ullaeus helped the band with this one, and not for the first time. His returning trip with In Flames has proved to be a success.

In Flames released their 10th studio-recorded album earlier this year, and on November 15th the band will be releasing a digital single of “Where The Dead Ships Dwell”. The single will incorporate different mixes of the song, including Casper, The Qemists, and Kristof Bathory (Dawn of Ashes) remixes.

Check out the new In Flames video below and let us know what you think about its horror-factor–and of the song itself.

Foster the People, indie pop band from Los Angeles, took the stage last night (10/27) on The Late Show with David Letterman.

They rocked the Ed Sullivan Theater with “Helena Beat”, a second hit after their original “Pumped Up Kicks” that has taken over airwaves for the past couple of months. Both songs are off of their debut album Torches, which was released on May 23rd of this year.

While it may have come as a surprise that the band chose to “wow” the crowd on the Letterman show with “Helena Beat” rather than “Pumped Up Kicks”, both songs are impressive, taking into account the groovy, indietronica-sounds that they put out.

Former boy band member, Justin Jeffre was arrested during the Occupy Cincinnati protest. The singer, best known as a member of the band 98 Degrees, was arrested and charged with “criminal trespassing and prohibitive use of the square”.

Jeffre, A political activist and a blogger for The Cincinnati Beacon,  spent the night in jail with the other ten protestors. When asked about his arrest Jeffre stated, “it was the place to be if you’re standing up for free speech”, something we all would like.

Joining the ranks of celebrity protestors such as Lupe Fiasco, Michael Moore, Russell Simmons, and Susan Sarandon, Jeffre proved that nothing is more important than standing up for what you believe and clearly he believes that as well.

The Plain White -T’s premiered their own twist on traditional Halloween songs with their very own, “The House on Shady Lane”.

It’s a little surprising, coming from a band who originally started out singing songs about girls named Delilah and making numerous appearances on ABC Family’s Greek.

However, this tune is impressive. It hit the same level as “This Is Halloween”–the original, not the scary Marilyn Manson cover. We can’t tell you that it won’t get stuck in your head, but we can say that Plain White T’s took Halloween songs to a new level since the advancement of  “The Time Warp” and “Thriller”.

To sweeten the deal, the band has made the song available for download on their website. So we dare you to download–or just listen to it below. It’s sure to get you ready for fright night.

Danish-originated electronic music producer Anders Trentemoller has completed an admirable double album, full of regenerated songs. The new Reworked/Remixed album is both appealing to the ear and intriguing to the soul.

When I first took a chance with Trentemoller, I had no idea what I was walking into. That was, until I realized that he was electronically gifted. The first part of the producer’s two-part album is comprised of selected tracks from The Great White Yonder, while the second part is comprised of selected remixed tracks for other artists. I must say though, having the first CD start off with a slowed-down version of “Sycamore Feeling”, is hauntingly eerie, especially with Marie Fisker lending her haunting-in-itself voice to the track. By the time I got to “Too Insistent”, I was incredibly intrigued by what else this artist had to throw at me. It starts off with a steady beat, gradually increasing, and it’s almost like a game to try and guess all of the electronic components and instruments involved. After jumping from the piano intro to “The Answer”, to a nearly all-electric song, I found myself admitting that there really is some kind of magical, musical diversity going on here that gives way to something genius.

The Efterklang remix of “Tide” definitely calls for creepy organ-sounding notes leading the way through the intro, and the chiming in the background played against the harmony of differences in vocals. Another instant favorite. “Silver Surfer, Ghost Rider Go!” (Andrew Weatherall and Prinz Mix)–do I even need to say anything more about this than “alright, alright, alrighttttt”? With a smooth rhythm that you know will have crowds clapping their hands, I imagined this to be playing while a group of badasses walk into a crowded room in the background. The remix has definitely stepped it up, stamped 60′s influence, synth and guitar crossbeats on it, and shipped it out to be an entirely successful track. Now I have to admit, I have a soft spot for Franz Ferdinand. But Trentemoller has added a completely new suave aspect to the song. It’s like taking a 2D picture and making it 3D. Yes, that’s right–a whole new, 3D song. That’s what happens when you have a good foundation and add an epic top layer.

“Tide” (Modelselektors Last Remix Ever) without the male harmony counterpart and “Tide” (Alternate Instrumental Version) I consider to both be great aspects to this CD. With the Blue Foundation-esque sounds and the extra electronic phenomena occurring in the alternate instrumental version, there was no way to go wrong. Options are a good thing here–especially when there is so much creativity (and CD space) to make use of.

“The White Flash” Remix (ft. Thom Yorke) was a good demonstration of electronic beats and the steady building of said beats. The “Me Me Me” by Lars & The Hands Of Light Remix was another 60′s-sounding, groovy mix. Trentemoller adds dimensions to songs like it’s his job–oh, wait. The song itself is reminiscent of “Young Folks” by Peter, Bjorn & John–brought to the 21st century. “Does Not Matter” is another one of my favorites, The Pierces and Kasper Bjorke are brilliant together in producing this song, but I personally opt for the Trentemoller remix. The slowed-down tunnel effect does wonders to bring out the melancholy, mood-imparting song. Throughout you can hear each specific guitar chord strummed, and it’s just an all-around good song. “Neverglade” was a pretty ridiculous finale to the first CD, ending on the same note it began. Haunting and intense–cue round one of applause.

The remix of “The Mole” is possibly the slowest-sounding song up until this point…and up until a minute and 21 seconds into the song. There’s something about how the vocals take backseat to the actual music that is aesthetically appealing to the ear in this song, as well as “Even Though You’re With Another Girl”, and “Raincoats”. I thought that “Raincoats” was another genius compilation, as well as another favorite. The amount of playfulness between the rhythms, beats, electronic components, live instrumentals, and vocals is truly indescribable until you listen to it for yourself. By the time I had listened to the next two versions of “Neverglade” (and loving the instrumental version because it comes through as a piece of art rather than “just a song”), hearing the insane sounds and tempo pace in “Wrong”, trying to get images of a dusk-filled, mysterious woods complete with majestic beings out of my head after hearing “The Dwarf and the Horse”, and making final decisions on which version of “Even Though You’re With Another Girl” I liked better, I was coming to the realization that indeed there was a level of unreachable talent that went into this entire album. That was again confirmed when I heard the remixes of “Beach” and “Dirty Snow”.

This whole two-part masterpiece is one to be proud of, and one that I would rank at the top of my electronically-centered playlist. I don’t know any other artist who can bounce between eerie, haunting, pumped-up, laid back and just straight up strange as well as Anders Trentemoller. He does it, and he does it well. The future of electronic-based music has been reached and exemplified.

Maroon 5 frontman, Adam Levine, has made it publicly known that he does not appreciate Fox News playing the band’s music.

Levine lashed out against the major news corporation on Twitter–saying “Dear Fox News, don’t play our music on your evil f****** channel ever again. Thank you.”

According to Rolling Stone, when asked about the incident, Levine’s representative was silent, and declined any sort of comment.

Fox hosts Greg Gutfeld and Andy Levy replied to Levine’s tweets with Gutfield responding, “Dear Adam, that’s not music”. His co-host Levy came back a little more harshly, tweeting back to the singer, “Dear @Adam Levine, don’t make crappy f****** music ever again. Thank you”.

Music and politics have always been intertwined, but will this be the last we hear of musicians speaking out so publicly–and in such brutally honest ways–as Levine has?

Let us know what you think in the comment section.
