The 2012 Oscar nominations have been announced, and there were also a few surprises, as well as snubs. The Artist, thought to be the front runner this award season, received 10 nods, but was topped by  Martin Scorsese's "Hugo", which received 11. The full list of categories and nominations for the 2012 Brit awards were announced last night, with singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran leading the way with four - best male, best breakthrough act, best single (for 'A Team') and best album for +.
