Sigur Rós Announce 2012 Tour


After taking a three-year break, Sigur Rós announced plans to tour in 2012. With no tentative tour dates released, the band has confirmed their appearance at the 2012 Bestival on the Isle of Wight in September. This will be there only UK tour date. Jónsi to Write the Soundtrack to the Next Cameron Crowe Release


Having written the score to Cameron Crowe's most recent film, 'We Bought A Zoo', it has been announced that Jónsi will work with the director again on a new project. Despite some mediocre reviews for the film, Jónsi's soundtrack faired much better critically, and provided those desperate to hear more of his solo work with something new. Sigur Ros working on new material


The Icelandic shoegaze/post-rock/experimental outfit Sigur Ros recently told the Wall Street Journal they were working on new material, which they described as "floaty and minimal".  The band expect to release the follow-up to 2008's highly acclaimed 'Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust' in the coming spring. Watch: Sigur Rós – “Klippa”


As we mentioned a couple weeks ago, Sigur Rós is planning to release a live concert film and album.  The film, titled INNI, will be under the direction of Vincent Morisset, the same man who did Arcade Fire’s Miroir Noir.  A teaser titled “Klippa” has just been released to promote the new film, and can be viewed below.  Although it is fairly vague and mysterious in nature, it is a sign of progress, and hopefully we will be able to see the entirety of the film soon.  When asked about … [Read more...]

Sigur Rós to Release Live Concert Film and Album

A handful of new details have been released in regards to Sigur Rós’ forthcoming live film, INNI. The film is of the group’s concert at Alexandra Place in London, the last show before their hiatus.  To top it all off, INNI will be directed by Vincent Morisset, the man behind Acrade Fire’s Miroir Noir.
