Canadian hardcore band Cancer Bats are set to release their third album “Bears, Mayors, Scrapes & Bones” on April 12th.
The Canadian lads burst onto the scene in 2006 with their first album “Birthing The Giant”. It was a refreshing take on modern hardcore, clearly laying its roots in the old ways but fresh sounding enough to connect with the kids. They proved themselves as a killer live act whilst touring with Rise Against, Gallows, Comeback Kid and Bane. In 2008 they released their sophomore effort in “Hail Destroyer”. A more defined and mature effort than Birthing The Giant, it showcased the bands talents and influences, with the southern stoner rock sound of “Lucifer’s Rocking Chair” and the straight out hardcore edge of the title track “Hail Destroyer” Cancer Bats were proving themselves a force to be reckoned with. The album featured guest appearances from Rise Against‘ Tim Mcllrath and Alexisonfires’ George Petit.
The new album is set to take the already forged Cancer Bats sound and kick it into overdrive, a new song “Scared To Death” was recently put on the bands Myspace and from the sounds of it, Cancer Bats aren’t letting up with the infectious grooves and shrieking sleazy vocals!
