Nobody’s Daughter, the new album from Hole will be released April 27 on Mercury/IDJ.
In her recent interview with Spin, Hole frontwoman Courtney Love told the magazine that it took five years to finish Nobody’s Daughter and that she relied on “the kindness of strangers” in the form of former collaborators Linda Perry, Billy Corgan, and producer Michael Beinhorn who produced Hole’s previous album, 1998′s Celebrity Skin.
All three have decided not to have anything further to do with the album citing a number of reasons.
If successful, the release of Nobody’s Daughter could be a high point in the turbulent professional and personal life of Courtney Love. She just recently lost custody of her daughter, 17-year old Francis Bean Cobain, the daughter she shared with Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain. And Hole’s founding guitarist, Eric Erlandson has objected to Love’s use of the band name because none of the original members are involved in the project.
