Rumours are abounding that the godfathers of the ‘Madchester’ and ‘baggy’ movement, The Stone Roses, will reform in 2012.
An announcement will be made next week, which concerns all four original members of the group and music website Clash has gotten wind that the announcement could very well be that a reformation is on the cards.
Since their split in 1996, there have been many different stories about whether The Stone Roses would get back together – all of which turn out to be false. But this story appears to hold the most weight and could even turn out to be true.
Even though they only released two albums in their lifetime, The Stone Roses have continued to remain one of the most influential bands to emerge from the U.K. in the past 25 years. It remains to be seen that, if they DO reform, would they continue to be relevant in 2012 or simply tarnish a grand legacy.
