Is Jay-Z Profiting Off The Occupy Wall Street Movement?

As if Jay-Z wasn’t rich enough, now the rapper/mogul has found a way to profit off the Occupy Wallstreet Movement.

Starting today, Jay-Z’s Rocaware clothing line will be selling a new line of Occupy Wallstreet T-shirts. The rapper was photographed wearing one the t-shirts backstage at one of his shows. And if you’re wondering if the rapper is planning on sharing the wealth with the actual protesters, well the immediate answer is no.

A spokesman for Rocawear released this statement to Business Insider:

The ‘Occupy All Streets’ T shirt was created in support of the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ movement. Rocawear strongly encourages all forms of constructive expression, whether it be artistic, political or social. ‘Occupy All Streets’ is our way of reminding people that there is change to be made everywhere, not just on Wall Street. At this time we have not made an official commitment to monetarily support the movement.

Do you think Jay-Z is profiting off the Occupy movement? And if so, do you think he’s wrong? Let us know in the comment section.

Update: The t-shirts have been removed from the Rocawear website.

totally profiteering, you can say all the nice words you want but at the end of the day if your not giving back to the protesters and keeping all the cash for yourself then your no better than what occupy is protesting against, people start wearing these and then suddenly people can pay to “support the movement” with out really having to do anything.
