We reported earlier this month that Chris Meloni was in talks to join the cast of HBO’s True Blood, and it’s now official. The Law & Order veteran will be joining HBO’s hit show for season five.
According to NYDailyNews.com, Meloni, who spent 12 seasons on the NBC hit Law & Order: SVU before exiting last Spring, will play ”an ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands.”
This new role marks the return of Meloni to HBO, who previously played Chris Keller on the network’s prison drama OZ for six seasons.
