Vices I Admire, alternative/indie rock band from Colorado, is saying goodbye to two of its members.
Mark Towne (drums) and Mickey Dollar (guitar, backing vocals) have decided to leave the band. The exact reason is unknown, however the two have decided to go their own separate ways. On the band’s tumblr site, Mickey left this statement for fellow fans:
“The time has come for me to take my leave of Vices I Admire. It’s been a great ride, and I’m proud of every minute I was part of it. But when you know it’s time to leave the party, you know. Dave, Mark, Dan and Rob are great musicians and friends, and I’m lucky I had the opportunity to write good music with each of them. If you have ever been a part of Vices I Admire, helped in any way, rocked out at a show or just listened to the music, I thank you. There are far too many of you to list. You have my gratitude for supporting us along the way. Hope to see you on March 30th at the Marquis Theater to see Mark and I off, and Dave and Dan on to the next chapter in Vices I Admire! I’ll dance around all silly like one last time, you should as well!”
Along with this fan dedicated-post, each band member has written separate notes to fans via Facebook, which you can read here.
The band will be playing a farewell concert on March 30th at the Marquis Theater. Will this be it for the band? Not according the David Curtis (lead vocals) and Dan Battenhouse (bass, backing vocals). While the sound may change, Vices I Admire will continue on, and we can only except great things from both the band and Towne and Dollar.
