2012 is shaping up to be the year of collaborations. Don’t believe me? Ask Justin Vernon. After a fistful of Grammy nominations, he has taken to making music with unlikely counterparts. First was his effort with The Flaming Lips, and now Bon Iver is joining up with Alicia Keys in an effort to create, “an American songbook of the greatest women singers.” In the same interview with USA Today, he explained that the duo has already written songs, but have yet to record and release them.
