Chronicle Wins at the Box Office During Super Bowl Weekend

It was a tough race between two films, unfortunately for Daniel Radcliffe, his new film The Woman in Black didn’t have enough magic to best Chronicle.

Chronicle, directed by Josh Trank, managed to rake in $22 million while The Woman in Black scared off $21 million from Friday to Sunday.

Both films, however, are considered success stories considering it was Super Bowl weekend, a bad time for movies at the box office.

Last week’s champ The Grey, starring Liam Neeson, fell to third place with an estimated take of $9.5 million, while Drew Barrymore’s Big Miracle was everything but, only scoring $8.5 million.
