Pop princess Rihanna and Oscar winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson are on the shortlist to play Whitney Houston in a new biopic about the singer’s life, according to The Daily Mail.
Whitney’s mentor Clive Davis is reportedly at the helm of the project and would like to see things come together quickly. Other actresses said to be attached to the film include actress Vivica Fox, 47, and American Idol singer Jordin Sparks, who will appear aside Houston in the remake of Sparkle. Willow Smith is also being considered to portray a young Whitney.
Houston was found dead February 11, the night before the Grammys, in her Beverly Hilton hotel room. The coroner’s office is awaiting toxicology reports before releasing a cause of death.
