As previously reported, the Plot Your Escape concert series took place March 1 in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and New Orleans. Mary J. Blige and Gavin DeGraw performed to a capacity crowd at Woldenberg Park in New Orleans, while Mariah Carey and P. Diddy performed in New York. Lil Wayne and Cee Lo took the stage in Los Angeles and Maroon 5 and Sara Bareilles rocked Chicago.
All four concerts were hosted by celebrity guest and were streamed live for the world to see. Overall the concerts, brought to you by Total Rewards, were more than just shows; they were full-fledged events, complete with a red carpet and a V.I.P treatment.
I was invited to the New Orleans show, and I can’t speak for the other locations but New Orleans was complete mayhem. The buzz around concert was huge, and that in itself is a huge accomplishment in a city known for its partying. Not one more person could have squeezed into Woldenberg Park as excited fans prepared to see Gavin DeGraw and Mary J. Blige.
Both performers were amazing and each song was met with cheers that you could hear clear across the French Quarter. Making the experience that much more sensational was the theater sized monitors that were positioned across the park that allowed fans in each city to watch the performers in other locations.
