Mumford & Sons Stopover Across America
Mumford & Sons have announced a series of Gentleman of the Road Stopovers to be held this August in four carefully-selected locations across the States. The band has said these single-day, outdoor Stopovers will combine the intimacy of a community celebration with all the excitement of a world-class music festival.
Look for the Stopovers to feature community vendors and activities, begin with a concert and end with a series of smaller after-parties and events involving local businesses, venues and, most importantly, local people. Each of the Stopovers will begin with a concert headlined by Mumford & Sons, alongside an eclectic and energetic roster of artists (Dawes, St. Vincent, Gogol Bordello) curated by the band themselves.
The band acknowledges a couple of their favorite festivals, Colorado’s Telluride Bluegrass and Scotland’s Loopallu, inspired them for the idea and feel of the Gentleman of the Road Stopover. In a press release, Mumford & Sons stated, “We want to stop off in towns where bands don’t usually tour, and celebrate the local people, food and music.” The band made certain to say they will be enlisting local bars and venues for after-parties, while working side-by-side with the community to make the Stopovers spectacular. “The vibe falls somewhere between ‘traveling Victorian circus’ and ‘Victorian traveling circus’. It should be a whole lot of fun.”
Anyone fortunate enough to have caught the Mumford & Sons’ Railroad Revival Tour with Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show, or who has seen the Brits tear through a festival set, knows the Gentleman of the Road Stopovers should be events to behold.

Tickets for all Stopovers will be available exclusively at the Stopover website.
Tickets for the Portland, Bristol, and Monterey Stopovers will go on sale Friday, June 1 at 10am local time. The Dixon, IL Stopover will go on sale Saturday, June 9th at 10am CT. Tickets will be $69, with no additional service fees or hidden charges. A very limited quantity of $59 early-bird tickets will be available for each site on a first-come, first-served basis.
