Rhett Miller at Mercy Lounge October 15th

If there’s one genre that is surprisingly absent more often than not within the city limits of Nashville, it’s large-act alternative country. Sure, this is designated home for country, and alt-rockers are always swinging by our handful of mid-size venues, but where are the shows fusing the two?

Taking some time away from The Old 97’s, singer/songwriter Rhett Miller has hit the road once again in support of his solo efforts. With the recent release of The Interpreter: Live at Largo and forthcoming release of The Dreamer, Miller is wrapping up his touring sans The Serial Ladykillers with shows in Nashville, Knoxville and Carrboro, NC. Once he is rejoined by his backing band, the tour will continue through the end of June, rapping up in Seattle, WA.

The upcoming record, dropping June 5th, is Miller’s sixth solo record and features the likes of Rosanne Cash, Rachael Yamagata and Jerry Marotta.

So swing by Mercy Lounge Tuesday, October 15th to catch Miller perform an acoustic solo-set. Whether you found his music via Old 97’s or Scrubs, this intimate show at Mercy Lounge will be well worth the fifteen bucks. And seriously, who can say no to a face like that?
