Pats Drop Ochocinco, Now He Can Become a Full-Time Reality Star

Chad Ochocinco has been relieved of his duties with the New England Patriots. In other words, he was fired. According to ESPN, the Patriots spent most of the day trying to trade the wide receiver – due to a lack of interest – they released him instead.

Ochocinco made the following statement on twitter:

“Thoroughly enjoyed the oppurtunity to play for the “Patriot” organization… fans were f—— wicked awesome, I wish all of you the best…”

Ochocinco, once recognized for his plays on the field, is engaged (or was until he got fired) to VH1′s Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada. Over the past few years, Ochocinco has tried his hand at a reality career of his own.  He was featured on his own reality television dating show called Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch on VH1, before becoming engaged to Lozada.

Earlier this year Ochocinco, real name Chad Johnson, announced that he  would drop Ochocinco and once again use his real name.

If we had to guess, now that Ochocinco is out of work (at least for now), you’ll probably see more of him on VH1.

Update: Chad’s fiancée just took her twitter page to show her support (sort of), tweeting, “Aww baby you got cut @ochocinco I got your back! I’m the bread winner now, which means I make the rules!”

Sounds like a real winner.

But we have to ask:
