Efterklang unveil new track and video “Hollow Mountain”

Efterklang have just released the first video for their upcoming release Piramida, which they recently performed in its entirety at the Sydney Opera House. Check out the video for “Hollow Mountain” above.

It seems the band are sticking with the style they developed on Magic Chairs; that is to say, less vocal harmony and more experimental minimalism (well, compared to their previous stuff). According to the band’s site, “Hollow Mountain” is the opening track on Piramida, making note that the opening sounds of the song were actually made using protruding metal spikes on an oil tank. This also continues Magic Chair‘s theme of using odd, neat samples.

Efterklang will be playing a series of Orchestral concerts in Europe and New York in Autumn. Piramida drops worldwide September 24th.
