Rihanna is set to shine again with the launch of her new single “Diamonds” on Wednesday, September 26th at 8:00 am on radio stations worldwide. The single will go on sale an hour later at iTunes Music Stores worldwide at 9:00 am EST. “Diamonds” is the first single from Rihanna’s seventh studio album which will be released on Island Def Jam. On Friday she gave a sizzling headlining performance at the iHeartRadio Festival on Friday, and won the Video Of The Year award for “We Found Love” at the 2012 MTV VMA’s, where she also gave a spectacular opening performance. Live Nation announced the Rihanna Diamonds World Tour 2013 a week ago.
“Diamonds” was produced by Stargate, the Norwegian hitmakers who have a track record of worldwide Top 10 hits with Rihanna that started with “Unfaithful” from 2006 and includes “Don’t Stop the Music,” “Take A Bow,” “Rude Boy,” “Only Girl (In the World),” and “What’s My Name” (featuring Drake), and “Talk That Talk.”
Live Nation’s Rihanna Diamonds World Tour 2013 is set to open at the Niagara Center in Buffalo on March 8, 2013, with North American dates scheduled through May 4th at the new Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. Tickets for most venues go on sale Friday, Sept. 14th through Sept. 21st.
Rihanna’s Video Of The Year award at the MTV VMA’s capped a near year-long campaign in support of her Rihanna’s sixth studio album, Talk That Talk produced a string of global hits over the past year, starting with the worldwide #1 smash, “We Found Love,” which spent 10 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, beating Rihanna’s previous record of 7 weeks at the top of the charts for “Umbrella” in 2007.
