Icelandic songbird Björk has expressed her delight after recovering from an operation which removed a polyp from her vocal chords.
In a message posted on Facebook, the chanteuse said that the polyp was first found a “few years ago” by doctors, which led her to take a “natural” route in order to cure herself:
“…for 4 years [I] did stretches and tackled it with different foods and what not.”
After this was found to be unsuccessful (compounded by the fact that Björk had to cancel some dates in 2012), the singer finally opted to have an operation:
“…I got tempted into hi tech lazer stuff and I have to say , in my case anyway: surgery rocks! I stayed quiet for 3 weeks and then started singing and definitely feel like my chords are as good as pre-nodule! It’s been very satisfying to sing all them clear notes again.”
Finishing off her statement, Björk made an apology to fans for cancelling shows and that she is “so looking forward to singing for you in 2013″.
