In what could be the largest first day launch in video game history, Activision is reporting that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has made over $400 million during it’s first day release, selling over 6.5 million copies.
The newest release of the war shooter series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, released on November 9, 2011 at midnight, broke the record set by the two previous games in the series.
Last year, Call of Duty: Black Ops made $360 million in the first 24 hours. In 2009 the first day sales for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was estimated to be $310 million. At this point it’s safe to say that the Call of Duty series will continue to skyrocket.
Phoenix Wright and Nova are the latest characters to make it into the world of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The pair is among several new characters that will make an appearance in the upgraded re-release of February’s Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
When all is said and done the re-release will include 50 fighters, including the two DLC characters Jill Valentine and Shuma-Gorath. The game is set to released on November 15, 2011.
As October takes off, we say farewell to the summer of remakes, including Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike Online Edition, Star Fox 64 3D, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and we say hello to an action-packed Fall.
