As previously reported, the Jimi Hendrix biopic, “All Is by My Side,” is under production in Ireland, and portraying the legendary guitarist is rapper André Benjamin.
One-half of the popular rap duo Outkast, Benjamin (André 3000) is a legend in his own right – making a name for himself in the film industry after landing roles in movies such as “Four Brothers” and “Semi-Pro.”
Today, we get our first look at the rapper as Hendrix and we have to admit – the resemblance is uncanny.
Although production has begun on the long-awaiting film, the big question is whether Hendrix’s music will be used in the movie. The Hendrix family has declined the use of Jimi’s image or music in the film, releasing the following statement:
“The EH board have not ruled out a ‘biopic’ in the future. Though producing partners would, out of necessity, have to involve the company from the inception of any such film project if it is to include original Jimi Hendrix music or compositions.”
A film about Hendrix, without use of his music might not bode well with moviegoers, but fans of Outkast should enjoy the chance to see Benjamin in action. Apart from the occasional feature, the rapper has been virtually absent from the music scene – stating earlier this year that “there are no plans for another OutKast album.”

Paratore worked as vp of Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution and created TMZ with Harvey Levin in 2006.
“The Warner Bros. Television family has lost an incredibly talented and creative friend and colleague in Jim,” said Bruce Rosenblum, president of Warner Bros. Television Group. “He has left an indelible mark not only on our company’s success but on each of us who worked with him during the past 26 years. Jim had a passion for life, both inside and outside the entertainment industry, and he will truly be missed. All of us at Warner Bros. are shaken by this news.”
Since its start, TMZ has become one of the most popular entertainment and celebrity gossip sites on the internet. Paratore is also credited with helping Ellen Degeneres land her popular talk show. He also had a hand in other popular shows such as “Judge Mathis”, “Rosie”, “TMZ TV”, “Extra” and The Bachelor.”
He is survived by his wife, Jill Wickert, and his daughter, Martinique Paratore.
]]>Robin was diagnosed with colon and liver cancer in 2012.
Gibb spokesperson released the following statement:
The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”
Barry Gibbs, 65, is the only surviving member of the Bee Gees.
Robin’s twin brother, Maurice, died in 2003 from a twisted bowel. And younger brother Andy Gibb — who was not part of the group — died at 30 from a heart infection.
The Bee Gees were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. The trio sold more than 200 million albums, and their soundtrack album to “Saturday Night Fever” was the top-selling album until Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” claimed the top spot.
He is survived by his wife, Dwina; his daughter, Melissa, and sons Spencer and Robin-John.

She writes:
“In this case, it would’ve been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while her friends parents are no doubt lovely people, that’s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage. Or that – as great as her friends may be – we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. Ideally, fathers help shape their kids’ worldview.
In this situation, it was the other way around. I guess we can be glad that Malia and Sasha aren’t younger, or perhaps today’s press conference might have been about appointing Dora the Explorer as Attorney General because of her success in stopping Swiper the Fox.
Sometimes dads should lead their family in the right ways of thinking. In this case, it would’ve been nice if the President would’ve been an actual leader and helped shape their thoughts instead of merely reflecting what many teenagers think after one too many episodes of Glee.”
So, to recap. Dora the Explorer is doing a wonderful job. President Obama shouldn’t listen to his daughters, and Glee will turn your kids gay, or at least make them believe that gay marriage is alright.

He continued:
“Who knows if this is going to work? I don’t necessarily think it’s a good idea … Maybe it will work. Maybe it won’t. I wish them luck.”
Although a shock for many, Barker saw it coming, having actually “survived the chopping block before.” He also acknowledged that low ratings were main reason behind Tyra’s decision.
“I’m friends with Tyra and the producers,” Barker told E! News. “It wasn’t a shock … There had been a discussion that ratings were down and that something like this would happen.
According to reports, Banks is attempting to revamp the show and wants to capitalize on the power of social media by possibly adding a few popular fashionista bloggers on the show.

]]>Mel Gibson is once again caught on tape going absolutely nuts. The Wrap posted the audio of Gibson screaming and cursing at the top of his lungs during a trip to Costa Rica. The actor was apparently screaming at The Maccabees screenwriter, Joe Eszterhas, who provided the damning audio to the website.
In an interview with The Wrap, Eszterhas said he provided the tape because “Gibson called me a liar. And I also have some reason to believe he’s creating a PR blitz questioning my truthfulness.” The writer has also alleged that Gibson talked about killing Oksana Grigorieva, hating Jews, and praising the guy who killled John Lennon.

Who’s playing Lollapalooza 2012? That’s what we all want to know, and while the festival won’t officially unveil the lineup until Midnight on Tuesday, April 11th, it seems that they are dropping a few clues.
Festival organizers seem to be using the Chicago train system and online ads to hint at possible headliners by posting the lyrics to songs. The ads feature song lyrics from the bands, with “#lolla” in the corner. Possible performers could include Jack White, Sigur Rós, Bloc Party, Justice, M83, The Weeknd and Santigold.
Lollapalooza will take place August 3-5th at Chicago’s Grant Park. 3-Day and VIP passes are on sale now.

The press release reads, “Envisioned as an experiment exploring non-traditional forms of record distribution and a way to get records in the hands of people who don’t visit record shops, the label was sure to use biodegradable latex balloons and all-natural twine in the process.”
It continues:
“Accompanying the balloons were custom postcards with instructions for the finders to submit photos, discovery location and the date on which the record was found, all of which will be incorporated into a website where fans can access the information at www.thirdmanrecords.com/balloon. Statistics for similar balloon launches show a recovery rate of approximately 10% so it’s quite possible that less than 100 of the 1000 records launched will ever be discovered. Whatever the numbers, the “Freedom at 21″ flexi-disc will surely be a highly sought-after collectible for years to come. “
