Here’s something you don’t hear of everyday…a band that DOESN’T want people to know their names. Yes, Beverly Hills (ironic, huh?) based band, Jump Clubb is sticking to what’s important in the music industry. Not all the celebrity hype that their hometown is built on, but yeah, you guessed it, the music.
The anonymous group has dubbed their melding of upbeat funk and soul with lo-fi and low-energy vocals “No Dance”, a musical statement that transcends their city’s physical and mental boundaries and questions the current state of the music listener. Personally, I think these guys are onto something, something that gets people off their asses and dancing. Take a listen, yourself. I’m sure you’ll agree. Not to mention they cover Elliott Smith’s “Los Angeles” with all the justice the song deserves!
Jump Clubb has recently released their 7 track LP, entitled The Love of No Dance, sharing the same name as the hit single from the album. You can have a free listen to this one of a kind sound at www.jumpclubb.com, and if you like, be sure to purchase The Love of No Dance from iTunes.
