Paul McCartney to be Awarded the Gershwin Prize For Popular Music in 2010

Former Beatle, Paul McCartney will receive the Gershwin Prize For Popular Music, which is awarded by the US Library Of Congress, in the spring of 2010. McCartney will be the third musician to receive the prize.An all-star tribute concert to honor McCartney will take place around the same time the award is presented and he has confirmed that he will play at the show.
Past Gershwin awards have gone to Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder.
