“La Faute Des Fleurs” A Portrait of Kazuki Tomokawa, the most recent and critically acclaimed work of Vincent Moon, is a bewildering look into the life of Kazuki Tomokawa, a Japanese underground musical icon.
Moon’s natural “organic” approach to the music video, takes the viewer on a journey through the multiple layers of Tomokawa’s life and personality. Whether it’s gambling on bike races, his past life as an actor, his vivacious relationship with alcohol, or just his music in its raw and simple state, after watching his work you will be left speechless.
Moon, a protégé of the visual arts and their incorporation with music, has worked with artists such as Grizzly Bear, Mogwai, Arcade Fire, and REM. The 30 year old French born videographer has changed the whole idea of what should be a music video. Steering away from mainstream formats, he has forced a new and different perspective onto the contemporary visual artist. His Take Away Shows project has become an icon, a new standard set in the world of videography as it relates to music.
You can check out Moon’s personal blog where he is exploring new realms of the visual spectrum as it relates to society, technology, and temporary images around the globe.
