Music icon Paul McCartney has apparently turned down the opportunity to work with Ozzy Osbourne.
In a new interview, Osbourne revealed that he once met McCartney and asked him if he wanted to appear on his new album. Osbourne said he was “shocked” when McCartney declined to play on one of his songs.
“Meeting Paul McCartney was fucking phenomenal.” Osbourne said. “I was in the studio at the same time as him and tried to get him to play bass on one of my songs. But he said he couldn’t improve on the bass line that was there. I said, ‘Are you kidding? You could piss on the record and I’d make it my life’.”
McCartney has frequently teamed up with other talents throughout his career, collaborating with many artists including Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.
McCartney is scheduled to play a show at London’s O2 Arena December 22nd. He is also being awarded the Gershwin Prize For Popular Music in Washington next spring.
