julian_carolingJulian Koster, former member of Neutral Milk Hotel, announces his 2009 Holiday Tour.  Julain Koster and his Singing Saw will bring songs and stories to your house, if you invite them!

Last year, Julian and his friends, The Singing Saws released The Singing Saw at Christmastime, filled with Julian’s imaginative creation.

You can invite the carolers to your home by emailing musictapescaroling@gmail.com.  They prefer invitations where the hosts will allow outside guests to also be entertained and ask that you include a mention as to whether you can offer the carolers a place to sleep in your email.

Their proposed Caroling Path:
December 7th, 8th, 9th: Georgia, Tennessee, Indiana & Lower Half of Illinois
December 10th, 11th, 12th: Chicago, Illinois, Michigan
December 13th, 14th, 15th: Ohio, Pittsburgh, Western NY
December 16th, 17th, 18th: Upstate NY, New England (CT, RI, VT etc)
December 19th, 20th, 21st: Philadelphia, NYC, Baltimore, DC, Chapel Hill

When in NYC he could join the other singing saw players :) If you’re not in NYC then you might not know that NYC holds the Guinness World Record for the largest number of singing saw players: http://musicalsawfestival.org/guinness-world-record (there’s a video of more than 50 saw players playing together).

Got something to say?
