Fishbone Teams Up with The English Beat for the Spring Skaward Tour

Ska revivalists The English Beat will join forces with Fishbone and Outlaw Nation for the “Spring Skaward” tour, a month-long trek of the US that kicks off in early 2010.

Los Angeles rockers Fishbone earned a reputation as one of the most diverse bands in rock. They weave a unique musical fabric of hectic energy and pounding rhythms with threads of funk rock, new wave ,metal, rap that was influential to other L.A. bands like the Red Hot Chili Pepper and Jane’s Addiction. They will release their fifth DVD, “Everyday Sunshine: A Fishbone Documentary,” early next year.

The English Beat has released three studio albums, the most recent of which–”Special Beat Service”–hit shelves in 1982. Since that time, the reunited outfit has dropped five compilation sets, including last year’s “You Just Can’t Beat It: The Best of the Beat.”

Louisiana reggae rockers Outlaw Nation are touring in support of “New Day,” the group’s recent Stoopid Records release, which surfaced in October.
