San Francisco Indie Trio, Grass Widow, to Release New Album

Kill Rock Stars Records will be releasing a new album from Grass Widow this summer. The new album will be released on August 24th and is currently being recorded in Portland by Alex Yusimov.  Raven Mahon, Lillian Maring, and Hannah Lew formed Grass Widow in 2007. They have released two 12″s, a demo CD-R/cassette (self-released), and a split cassette with then label mates Rank/Xerox (Wizard Mountain). Grass Widow will be headed down to SXSW next month.

Final Additions to Noise Pop 2010; Thao and Har Mar Superstar

The Noise Pop Festival returns February 23 through March 1,bringing some of the top local music and better known indie rock favorites to the San Francisco area. Additions to this year’s Noise Pop 2010 lineup include Har Mar Superstar, who will make an appearance at the Diesel/ Live 105 Happy Hour at Benders on February 23rd. In addition, Citay will be joining Scout Niblett at Cafe du Nord. Thao Nguyen will join Mirah on stage at the Swedish American Hall for a first ever collaborative performance. Also, a second screening of Blood into Wine has been added by popular demand.

Noise Pop 2010 Festival Dates and Acts Announced

noisepop2010gifNoise Pop Industries have announced the dates of the West Coast’s 18th annual Noise Pop Festival and music industry mini-conference, called Industry Noise.  The celebration of independent music, film, and art will take place February 23-March 1 at various venues around the San Francisco area.  Industry Noise will happen on Saturday, February 27 at The Swedish American Hall. This mini-conference discusses independent music, technology, changes in the industry and will be attended by musicians, indie labels, music bloggers, managers and others involved in music. Train Live at the Tabernacle

_ART9945Columbia recording artists Train pulled into the Atlanta station Tuesday PM in support of their fifth studio album “Save Me, San Francisco“.

Train is band known for superb musical performance and simple yet profound and thought provoking lyrical content. As such, the band has always seemed to find it landlocked in a gray area between rock stars and adult contemporary artists. This creative friction of identity perhaps explains the diverse and loyal fan base that came out this night to support the band touring for the first time in four years.
